Since 2018, my journey has been dedicated to crafting DripX®, an innovative device engineered by Nolix.ai to pinpoint toilet leaks and notify homeowners, thereby curtailing water wastage and fostering savings on water bills. This endeavor has been a path filled with complex hurdles and demands for inventive solutions.
In the initial phases, the urgency for a mechanism capable of identifying and mitigating toilet leaks—a significant contributor to water loss—became apparent. My exploration into the market revealed a scarcity of both dependable and economical solutions.
Undaunted by the lack of existing resources, I ventured into an exploration of various sensor technologies and software applications to create a working model for DripX®. This phase, however, brought to light several technical dilemmas including sensor precision, energy efficiency, and seamless connectivity.
Addressing these issues necessitated the creation of bespoke technologies and methodologies. This involved devising unique algorithms for leak detection and enhancing sensor responsiveness. Additionally, it required forging close collaborations across hardware and software spectrums.
Despite encountering numerous obstacles, my dedication to enhancing and perfecting DripX® never wavered. After perfecting DripX®, Nolix.ai was able to leverage the innovations developed during this process to create more advanced devices. Today, the development of the device is complete, and it operates flawlessly on thousands of toilets. Step 1: Placement for Initial Setup
- Place DripX® on a Table: Start by placing your DripX® device on a stable, flat surface. This position is crucial for the initial setup phase.
Step 2: Download the Nolix® App
- Get the Nolix® App: Search for and install the Nolix® app from either the iOS App Store or Google Play Store on your smartphone or tablet.
- Sign Up or Log In: Open the app, sign up for a new account, or log in to an existing one.
Step 3: Activate Your DripX® Device
- Activate with the Magnet: Use the supplied magnetic switch by hovering it near the dot on the DripX® logo. A blue LED light will indicate that the device is turned on and ready for setup.
Step 4: Follow the Nolix® App Installation Guide
- Connect DripX® to the App: In the Nolix® app, add your DripX® device following the step-by-step installation guide. This process includes connecting your device to your Wi-Fi network
- Set Up Alerts: The app will guide you through setting up your preferred notification methods for leak alerts (SMS, email, app notifications) and ask you to input your contact information.
- Device Calibration: The app will instruct you to leave the DripX® device on the table for a brief period. This is part of its initial calibration process, where it collects data to fine-tune its AI for accurate leak detection.
Step 5: Deploying Your DripX®
- Notification to Deploy: Once the initial setup and calibration are complete, the Nolix® app will notify you that DripX® is ready to be placed in your toilet tank.
- Installation in the Toilet Tank: Open the toilet tank lid and carefully place your DripX® device inside, making sure it’s not obstructing any mechanisms.
Turning Off Your DripX® Device
- Locate the Activation Spot: Find the dot on the DripX® logo where you initially placed the magnet to activate the device.
- Place the Magnet: Hold the magnet close to this specific spot on the DripX® logo.
- Wait for the Signal: Keep the magnet steady in position for 3-4 seconds. Watch for the device’s LED light; it will blink to acknowledge the command to power down.
- Confirmation: After the LED blinks, it will shut off, indicating that your DripX® device has been successfully turned off.
